What is a design-build contractor?
A design-build contractor handles both the design and the construction of your project with one team and one contract. At Propel, that means drawings, renderings, selections and the build itself all come from us, so there's one point of contact and one team accountable for the result.
Do I get to see a rendering before construction starts?
Yes. Seeing the project before it's built is the whole point. We create drawings and photorealistic renderings so you can make decisions with confidence and avoid the "that's not what I pictured" moment.
Is design-build more expensive than hiring a designer and a builder separately?
Not usually. Because the design is done with construction costs in mind, you avoid paying for plans that come back over budget and have to be redrawn. You also avoid the change orders that pile up when the builder and designer aren't on the same page.
